Walgreens Cash Rewards & Points. How much can you Spend?

I get this question a lot.  “Why wasn’t I able to use all of my Walgreens points or Walgreens Cash to pay for my Transaction at Walgreens?”

In fact, this exact question was sent to me today.

“Hi, I was wondering if you could show how to use the cash rewards. I went to Walgreens this morning. total was $46, after coupons and register rewards. I thought I could use all of my points ($56) but they said only $20 was available. this is the only store I get confused on with their policies. Thank you”

The answer is fairly simple. Walgreens allows you to use your Walgreens cash in specific increments. Let’s take a look at them below.

Walgreens Redemtion Tiers

$1 Walgreen Cash rewards is converted to $1

$2 Walgreens Cash rewards is converted to $2

$3 Walgreens Cash rewards is converted to $3

$4 Walgreens Cash rewards is converted to $4

$5 Walgreens Cash rewards is converted to $5

$10 Walgreens Cash rewards is converted to $10

$20 Walgreens Cash rewards is converted to $20

$50 Walgreens Cash rewards is converted to $50

Walgreens Cash rewards can only be redeemed in the increments described above.

For instance, you may have $22 in rewards,  but you’d only be able to redeem $20 according to Walgreens Redemption policy.

Let’s say you have $50 in rewards but your total is only $46. Unfortunately, you’d only be able to redeem $20 in Walgreens Cash Rewards. If your total would have been $50 or more, you could have redeem $50 in rewards on that transaction. However, when you fall below a redemption tier amount, you will only be able to redeem rewards at the lower tier.

One more example.

  • I have $10 in Walgreens Cash Rewards(points).

  • My total is $9

  • I will only be able to redeem $5 in Walgreens Cash.

  • Had I spent $1 more, I would have been able to redeem $10 in Walgreens Cash.

  • 1000 points = $1 reward

  • 2000 points = $2 rewards

  • 3000 points = $3 rewards

  • 4000 points = $4 rewards

  • 5000 points = $5 rewards

  • 10,000 points = $10 rewards

  • 20,000 points = $20 rewards

  • 50,000 points = $50 rewards

Be on the lookout for these coupons at Walmart

I was casually cruising down the snack aisle at Walmart and what do my bargain-hunting eyes spot? PEELIES ON TAKIS! These aren’t just any coupons – we’re talking serious money moves here! Some bags are sporting $2 off coupons (like, yes please! 💅), while others have $.50 off (still a total win in my book). […]

Amazing Walmart Clearance Find: Kids’ Shoes Starting at $1!

I just had to share an incredible clearance deal I discovered at Walmart this week! Walmart is having a massive markdown on children’s footwear, with prices slashed dramatically. These clearance markdowns are legitimate deals on perfectly good merchandise – they typically happen when Walmart needs to clear inventory or when seasons change. What I Found: […]

The exact same thing just happened to me. I too thought I could spend all of my W Cash especially since a good chunk will expire the first of next month. I guess they do it on purpose so you have to keep coming back or else your money will expire. It too is the only store I get confused on with their policies. Course, I don’t go there nearly as much as I used to. Thank you for making it very easy to understand!
