I get this question a lot. “Why wasn’t I able to use all of my Walgreens points or Walgreens Cash to pay for my Transaction at Walgreens?”
In fact, this exact question was sent to me today.
“Hi, I was wondering if you could show how to use the cash rewards. I went to Walgreens this morning. total was $46, after coupons and register rewards. I thought I could use all of my points ($56) but they said only $20 was available. this is the only store I get confused on with their policies. Thank you”
The answer is fairly simple. Walgreens allows you to use your Walgreens cash in specific increments. Let’s take a look at them below.
One more example.
-
I have $10 in Walgreens Cash Rewards(points).
-
My total is $9
-
I will only be able to redeem $5 in Walgreens Cash.
-
Had I spent $1 more, I would have been able to redeem $10 in Walgreens Cash.
1000 points = $1 reward
2000 points = $2 rewards
3000 points = $3 rewards
4000 points = $4 rewards
5000 points = $5 rewards
10,000 points = $10 rewards
20,000 points = $20 rewards
50,000 points = $50 rewards

The exact same thing just happened to me. I too thought I could spend all of my W Cash especially since a good chunk will expire the first of next month. I guess they do it on purpose so you have to keep coming back or else your money will expire. It too is the only store I get confused on with their policies. Course, I don’t go there nearly as much as I used to. Thank you for making it very easy to understand!
